SČVR

SČVR, the Association of Czech Outdoor Advertising Companies, represents businesses involved in outdoor advertising and advocates for fair, balanced regulation across the advertising market. The association focuses on the impact of Prague’s advertising ordinance, particularly restrictions on advertising banners displayed on buildings. It argues that these rules disadvantage private operators and property owners while leaving many advertising formats on municipal land and infrastructure unaffected. SČVR supports regulating outdoor advertising when the rules are proportionate and applied consistently to all formats.

The association provides updates on regulatory developments and its efforts to challenge what it considers discriminatory restrictions. Its work includes engaging with public authorities, competition regulators, political representatives, and property-owner groups, as well as pursuing legal proceedings. SČVR also highlights the interests of homeowners’ associations, housing cooperatives, and private building owners who may rely on advertising income. Through its communications and advocacy, the association seeks a fair competitive environment for outdoor advertising, including the continued availability of advertising banners and related services, while promoting a coherent approach to regulation throughout the market.
