The establishment of the Supreme Council of Youth & Sports is considered the most important phase in the history of modern sports development in the Kingdom of Bahrain. His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa; Emir of the State of Bahrain then, issued Royal Decree number (2) for the year 1975 for the establishment of the Supreme Council for Youth a Sports under the presidency of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa; Crown Prince and commander-in-chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.s The Supreme Council for Youth & Sports is responsible of setting general policies for youth & sports programs to deliver integrated youth & sports programs to create an active nation, innovative youth and sports achievements. Then in the year 1983 Legislative Decree number (5) came as an amendment to the Royal Decree number (2) of the year 1975 to establish the Supreme Council for Youth & Sports. Between the period from 1st of June 1999 till 6th of September 2010, the presidency of the Supreme Council for Youth & Sports was to His royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa the Crown Prince, which continued to monitor youth and sports activities throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain.

About SCYS
Scys is the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, playing a crucial role in the development of modern sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Established in 1975 by Royal Decree number (2), Scys operates under the presidency of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and commander-in-chief of the Bahrain Defence Force. With a focus on creating an active nation, Scys sets general policies for youth and sports programs, fostering innovation and achievements.
In 1983, an amendment was made to the original decree, further solidifying the council's purpose. Over the years, Scys has been under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and currently, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa serves as the president. Under his guidance, Scys continues to develop plans and initiatives, working collaboratively with other sports institutions, to strengthen existing gains, pursue further achievements, and elevate Bahrain's status in the sports arena
