The Society for Descriptive Psychology (SDP) was founded in 1978 with the aim to teach, advance, and apply Descriptive Psychology. The SDP is a community that explores the Person Concept, which is an interdependent conceptual framework combining Person, Behavior, Language, and World to create common ground for the Human Sciences. The Society's founding involved the participation and assistance of 22 individuals, with Peter G.
Ossorio being elected as Honorary President for life. Annual meetings have been held since the Society's inception and the full list of past presidents can be found on their website. Descriptive Psychology, the core conceptual framework, can be explored in nearly 400 publications, including books and articles by Dr.
Ossorio and his students. Many of these publications are available in The Peter G. Ossorio Collection at CU Scholar.
Additionally, the Society welcomes anyone interested in Descriptive Psychology to join them at their annual meetings. For more information and access to their publications, visit the Society for Descriptive Psychology website
