About San Diego Pride
San Diego Pride, founded in 1974, is a nonprofit organization that fosters pride, equality, and respect for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities. They are best known for organizing the first Lesbian and Gay Parade in San Diego, celebrating the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion. Today, San Diego Pride continues to bring together the diverse skills, talents, and visions of the community through various programs and events.
The organization raises funds through festival ticket sales, beverage sales, sponsorships, and exhibitor fees. These funds are used to support San Diego Pride's community philanthropy, which has distributed over $2. 5 million to advance their mission locally, nationally, and globally.
In addition to their primary events like the Pride Festival, Parade, and Spirit of Stonewall Rally, San Diego Pride offers community grants, giving programs, and trainings. They are committed to racial justice and equity, actively working to dismantle white supremacy and anti-Black racism. San Diego Pride envisions a world free of prejudice and bias and values diversity, respect, honesty, and integrity.
With their inclusive approach, they aim to create a world where everyone feels accepted and celebrated
