SDRC

Stellenbosch District Riding Club (SDRC) is an equestrian club and venue in Stellenbosch, in the heart of South Africa’s Cape Winelands. Established around 70 years ago, the club continually maintains and upgrades its facilities to support riding, training, shows and community participation. SDRC welcomes members and visiting riders, and offers membership, riding school activities, arena bookings, venue hire, sponsorship opportunities, and information about upcoming shows and events.

The venue features four arenas: sand, grass, clubhouse and forest, alongside a judges’ box with a public-address system, a cross-country track, a warm-up arena and a lunge arena. Competitors can also use stabling, holding paddocks and stallion stables. The clubhouse provides indoor and outdoor seating, a fireplace, a children’s play area and parking.

SDRC supports organisations that help develop equestrian sport, particularly for children, young people and disabled athletes. Partners include the Helderberg Branch of the South African Pony Club, the Western Province Para-Dressage Society, the Cape Winelands region of SANESA and carriage-driving communities.
