The San Diego Regional Center

San Diego Regional Center (SDRC) is one of 21 regional centers in California, serving residents of San Diego and Imperial counties with developmental disabilities and their families. Its mission is to help people achieve their goals alongside community partners, while its vision is for them to live productive, satisfying lives as valued members of their communities.

SDRC is an entry point for determining eligibility and accessing support. People who may have a developmental disability can apply; eligibility is assessed using social, medical, and psychological information gathered during intake. Services are based on each client’s individual needs and are intended to promote independence, personal potential, and quality of life.

The center offers service coordination, Early Start, Coordinated Family Support, clinical services, paid internships, and the Self Determination Program. It also provides information and resources for families, individuals, and service providers, including provider enrollment and billing tools, community resources, employment support, self-advocacy, and mental health services.
