Środowiskowy Dom Samopomocy w Nisku

The Środowiskowy Dom Samopomocy in Nisko is a community-based support center serving people with diverse mental health and developmental support needs. Its services are intended for people with chronic mental illness, intellectual disabilities, other long-term disturbances of mental functioning, multiple disabilities, and autism spectrum conditions. The center is located on the ground floor of a building at 8 Sandomierska Street in Nisko.

Its primary aim is to reduce social isolation and help participants maintain and develop the abilities needed for independent living. The program also supports everyday resourcefulness, physical and psychological wellbeing, meaningful use of free time, and the resolution of day-to-day challenges. Individual and group training sessions are adapted to participants’ needs and capabilities.

The center offers therapeutic assistance, psychological counseling, opportunities to learn new skills, and help with administrative matters. Activities also encourage autonomy, personal interests, and satisfying relationships with others. During their stay, participants receive necessary care and a free hot meal.
