About Sea Captains
Founded in 1930, Sea Captain's House is a renowned restaurant and a true Myrtle Beach landmark. Located on the picturesque oceanfront of Myrtle Beach, it has been delighting guests with extraordinary dining experiences for over 60 years. The story of Sea Captain's House begins with a beach cottage built by Henry Taylor, later taken over by Charles W.
Angle and then purchased by Mrs. Nellie G. Howard, who transformed it into Howard's Manor.
With nine guestrooms and three delicious home-cooked meals daily, it quickly became a symbol of warm southern hospitality. After Hurricane Hazel struck in 1954, the screened front porch was replaced with a cozy Florida Room, providing guests with a comfortable spot to enjoy the magnificent views of the Atlantic. As preferences shifted in the 1960s, the property was saved from demolition and transformed into a restaurant.
Sea Captain's House has since become a favorite gathering place for locals and tourists alike, offering superb seafood, breathtaking ocean views, and the genuine hospitality that Myrtle Beach is known for. Make sure to visit Sea Captain's House during your Myrtle Beach adventure for an unforgettable dining experience
