SeaDoc Society is an organization dedicated to ensuring the health of marine wildlife and their ecosystems through science and education. Based on Orcas Island in the Salish Sea, SeaDoc conducts and sponsors vital scientific research in the Pacific Northwest. The Salish Sea is home to a diverse range of species, including 37 species of mammals, 172 species of birds, 253 species of fish, and over 3,000 species of invertebrates.

SeaDoc's research focuses on uncovering the environmental factors that threaten the delicate balance of life in the Salish Sea and surrounding watersheds. Their goal is to effect positive change and promote the health of this vibrant ecosystem. SeaDoc acts as a catalyst, bringing together various stakeholders to share information and design region-wide solutions.

They translate their scientific findings into action and work towards creating a healthier Salish Sea. SeaDoc is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and works towards creating an inclusive environment that values the unique contributions of all team members and collaborators. Drayer Wildlife Health Center at the renowned UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. They also collaborate on the California Lost Fishing Gear Project to retrieve discarded fishing gear from the coastal ocean. Through funding scientists, providing expertise, conducting research, and facilitating collaboration, SeaDoc Society works tirelessly to fulfill their mission of ensuring the health of the Salish Sea and its wildlife
