About Seafwa
Seafwa, also known as the Southeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, is an organization that brings together state agencies responsible for managing and protecting fish and wildlife resources in 15 states and two territories. Established in 1938, Seafwa has played a significant role in shaping conservation efforts at the state, regional, and national levels. The organization aims to protect jurisdiction rights over wildlife resources on both public and private lands.
Moreover, Seafwa carefully evaluates and offers support or opposition to wildlife legislation and regulations, ensuring the best interests of member states. As a clearinghouse for ideas and expertise, Seafwa facilitates the exchange of knowledge on wildlife and fisheries management, research techniques, law enforcement, outdoor safety, and education programs. The organization collaborates with various entities, including the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, to pursue common goals for the conservation of fish and wildlife resources.
Seafwa also maintains a diverse range of committees to analyze and address key issues affecting these resources, and sponsors cooperative programs to benefit fish and wildlife
