Sea Hag Sportfishing Charters offers family-friendly fishing trips from Wanchese on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Founded around Captain Frank McCargo’s goal of creating an enjoyable, affordable experience for families and friends, the business provides private charters priced by the boat rather than per person. Trips include inshore and Pamlico Sound fishing, nearshore and intermediate-range outings, and offshore charters near Oregon Inlet. Depending on the trip, guests can target species such as sea bass, tilefish, amberjack, grouper, mahi, king mackerel, tuna, wahoo, marlin, and sailfish. The experience also includes opportunities to see local marine life and enjoy the area’s coastal scenery.
Charters operate aboard a 46-foot Buddy Harris Sportfisher, described as safe and comfortable for families. Captain McCargo has held a US Coast Guard Captain’s License for more than 25 years and emphasizes making sure everyone aboard enjoys the adventure. Sea Hag is docked at Wanchese Marina, where guests can also find breakfast or lunch at The Landing Grill and professional fish-cleaning services.
