Seahorses Swim School is an independent swimming school in Torbay, established in 2010 by instructors Jacqui Goad and Doug Litt. Based in Paignton, it provides swimming lessons and water-confidence activities for children and adults of different ages and abilities. The school has a particular focus on children, including those with disabilities or additional learning needs, and aims to help every swimmer build skills in a supportive, enjoyable environment.
Group classes are available for non-swimmers and improvers. Non-swimmer groups are limited to four participants, allowing instructors to provide individual attention as learners develop confidence, mobility and basic swimming skills. Improver sessions help swimmers build technique, strength and experience in deeper water. Limited one-to-one lessons are also offered for people with significant water fears, those rebuilding confidence, and learners who may find group lessons unsuitable. Seahorses can advise swimmers interested in progressing to local clubs or trying water polo.
The teaching team holds Level 2 Swim England qualifications or equivalent. Seahorses Swim School is affiliated with Swim England and the Halliwick Association.
