Sea Kayak Academy

Sea Kayak Academy is a Pembrokeshire-based provider of coaching-led sea kayaking courses, coastal journeys and private coaching. Established in 2012 and operated by Kayak King Pembrokeshire Ltd, the Academy helps paddlers build practical skills, sound judgement and confidence in real coastal conditions. Its small-group courses welcome complete beginners and offer progression through technique, safety, personal performance, Paddle UK awards, leadership and coaching. Participants can also book Remote First Aid training, one-to-one or small-group coaching, guided sea kayak journeys, women’s retreats, club weekends and programmes for organisations.

Learning is shaped around the weather, sea conditions and participants’ experience, with time for practice, questions and individual feedback. Sea kayaks, paddles, safety equipment and drysuits are available when needed. Courses operate from New Holmus Farm, which has a classroom, drying facilities, an equipment wash area and participant camping; separate cottage accommodation is also available subject to availability. The Academy’s shop offers Segla paddles and gear, coastal safety and navigation essentials, new kayaks, and checked pre-owned or ex-demo boats.
