Sea of Stars is a retro-inspired, turn-based role-playing game set in the universe of The Messenger. Created by Sabotage, it follows Valere and Zale, two Children of the Solstice whose lunar and solar powers combine as Eclipse Magic against the monstrous creations of the alchemist known as the Fleshmancer. The adventure features timed attacks, character combos, strategic enemy-interrupting abilities, and seamless exploration with swimming, climbing, and jumping. Players can also sail, cook, fish, visit taverns, and play the tabletop game Wheels. Dynamic lighting, changing weather, and day-and-night cycles shape the world and its puzzles.
Sea of Stars is available on PC and consoles, with a mobile version for phones and tablets featuring adapted touch controls. The site also offers information and resources for fans, including a compendium, wallpapers, and a press kit. Official merchandise and related products include plush toys, art books, a physical game edition, and digital and vinyl soundtracks featuring music by Eric W. Brown and Yasunori Mitsuda.
