About Sea Turtle Hospital
The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of sea turtles in North Carolina. Our mission is to conserve and protect all species of marine turtles, both in the water and on the beach. Through our rescue, rehabilitation, and release efforts, we strive to save sick and injured sea turtles.
We also provide public education to raise awareness about the plight of sea turtles and the threat of their extinction. We offer learning opportunities for students of biology, wildlife conservation, and veterinary medicine from around the world. With 25 years of experience, we have protected over 2,627 sea turtle nests, treated over 1,288 sick or injured sea turtles, and educated hundreds of thousands of people about the importance of conserving these majestic creatures.
