About Second Mile Haiti
Second Mile Haiti is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting childhood malnutrition and improving outcomes for impoverished women and children in Haiti. Their mission is achieved through innovative, research-driven, residential malnutrition and maternity centers. They go the second mile by investing in families through education, training, and business opportunities.
Second Mile Haiti strives to meet immediate needs through holistic care while also empowering caregivers with knowledge to better care for their children and communities. They believe in keeping families together and providing a better way to help. In the past decade, their services have helped thousands of Haitian families get and stay healthy.
Their three-step approach to treating and preventing childhood malnutrition includes providing immediate nutritional and medical support, investing in the child's caregiver and strengthening the entire family, and ensuring community-wide access to family planning, pre and postnatal care, and midwife-attended births. Second Mile Haiti aims to touch every department in Haiti with their Family Centers by 2025
