About Second Story Books
Second Story Books is one of the largest used and rare bookstores in the world, located in the Washington D. C. Founded in 1974 by Allan Stypeck, the bookstore started from a small second-floor location and has since grown and consolidated into its two current locations: the DUPONT CIRCLE store at 20th and P Streets N.
W. Both stores are conveniently located on Metro's Red Line. With its extensive collection, Second Story Books offers a wide range of genres and subjects, including adventure, history, science, literature, and more.
The bookstore also provides services such as appraisals, consignments, and estate liquidation. Second Story Books has worked with prestigious institutions like the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian Institution, helping build their special collections.
