Secord Child Care is an early learning and childcare centre located on Winterburn Road in Edmonton, Alberta. The centre provides care and developmentally focused programs for children from infancy through age 12, in a safe, healthy and welcoming environment. Its four programs include infant care for babies from birth to 19 months, toddler care for children aged 19 months to three years, preschool and kindergarten for ages three to five, and out-of-school care for children aged five to 12.
Weekly classroom plans combine structured and unstructured activities, giving children opportunities to explore their interests, build skills and learn at their own pace. Educators work with families to support infants’ routines and wellbeing, encourage toddlers’ curiosity and independence, and help preschoolers develop the skills and confidence needed for school. The out-of-school program supports children’s transition into formal education. Secord Child Care also emphasizes family partnerships, health and hygiene, child safety, and awareness of the natural environment.
