Sections and Volumes is a Copenhagen-based, globally collaborative research-driven spatial design studio. It partners selectively and confidentially with architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) practices, universities, and vocational schools to turn spatial research into cinematic, interactive environments. Its work is organized around two specialist tracks. Spatial Visualization supports AEC practices with cinematic spatial models, interactive build narratives, and research-led environments that communicate design intent before construction. Immersive Pedagogy serves academic institutions through guided experiences where students can explore structure, sequence, scale, and design logic in context.
Each collaboration is co-designed around a shared research question, curriculum, or project ambition, creating a practical tool for teaching, testing, or communicating spatial ideas. The studioโs workflow moves from architectural analysis and voxel or modular prototyping to cinematic environments developed in Blender and Unreal Engine. Its explorations include interactive education worlds for learning about structure, circulation, and spatial problem-solving, as well as cinematic build studies and research into architectural systems.
