About Sector 1 Gallery
Sector 1 Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in Bucharest, Romania. Founded in 2017 by Andreea Stănculeanu, the gallery is dedicated to contributing to the evolution of Romanian contemporary art. It places a strong emphasis on artistic freedom and creating a constraints-free environment for artists.
Sector 1 Gallery focuses on showcasing emerging and mid-career Romanian and international artists, as well as highlighting important, forgotten voices of the Romanian neo-avantgarde. Situated in the former communist art production complex Combinatul Fondului Plastic, Sector 1 Gallery has become part of a growing art ecosystem in Bucharest. The gallery not only offers captivating exhibitions but also actively engages art lovers and new audiences through talks, workshops, and partnerships outside of the gallery space.
