The Y Australia

The Y Australia is the national office of a network of 11 Y associations delivering programs and services across the country. Supporting communities and young people since 1844, the organisation aims to help people grow, create opportunities to make a positive difference, and enable young people to reach their full potential. Care, honesty, respect and responsibility guide its work to create safe and inclusive spaces.

Through local associations and more than 680 facilities, the Y offers services for children, young people and the wider community. Its programs include early learning, kindergarten, schools, before- and after-school care, camps and school holiday activities. Recreation services include health and fitness, swimming and gymnastics. Youth empowerment initiatives include youth parliaments, Global Change Agents and the WhyNot platform, alongside broader community services.

The Y also works with government, businesses and not-for-profit organisations to support positive change. People can get involved by volunteering, working with the organisation, partnering with a local association, or finding programs and facilities in their area.
