Seedloans is a brand that goes beyond traditional microfinance to provide a holistic solution for female smallholder farmers. By combining the proven microfinance mechanism with a comprehensive approach along the entire value chain, Seedloans strives to empower these farmers and contribute to important global goals such as Zero Hunger, No Poverty, Gender Equality, and Sustainable Agriculture.

As part of their solution, Seedloans offers improved seeds to female smallholders as a loan. These seeds are complemented with fertilizers, agricultural training, storage solutions, and access to fair market prices. Additionally, female farmers are integrated into strong group structures and connected with Seedloans representatives through a digital solution.

Seedloans currently focuses on supporting female farmer groups in multiple districts of Central and Eastern Uganda, recognizing the concentration of smallholders in these areas. They offer different options of seed loans, ranging from 5kg to 20kg, to cover the typical field size of a smallholder (1 acre). With a mission to make a lasting impact, Seedloans is committed to empowering female smallholder farmers and creating sustainable agricultural practices.
