Seesport in Dresden

Seesportclub Dresden e.V. is a Dresden-based water sports club that has promoted maritime sport and skills since 1960. Its activities combine sailing with traditional seamanship, including knot-tying, line throwing and climbing ropes. The club welcomes newcomers to try rowing and Seesport training at its premises on Tolkewitzer Straße, with regular sessions for both activities.

Members sail Optimist dinghies, Ixylon boats and cutters, and take part in regattas throughout the season, including events such as German championships and the Deutschlandcup. Competitors combine sailing with knot-tying and throwing disciplines. The club also organizes youth adventure trips, often to Lovosice in the Czech Republic, as well as training camps where participants develop their skills and learn from experienced sailors. During winter, members maintain the boats and study theory in preparation for the next season.

With a focus on youth participation, teamwork and practical learning, Seesportclub Dresden offers sporting activities and opportunities to experience maritime traditions. Its annual calendar includes competitions, club events and shared activities at the boathouse.
