Seglerjungenschaft

Seglerjungenschaft Nürnberg e. V. (SJN) is a long-standing sailing club based in the former raft harbour in Ochsenfurt, Bavaria.

Founded more than 60 years ago as a sailing and training group for students in Nuremberg, the club moved to Ochsenfurt in the 1960s and helped develop a sports harbour on the Main River. Its activities bring together sailing, youth education and hands-on community life. The SJN provides sailing instruction for young people and promotes responsible conduct on the water, while welcoming enquiries from guest members and visiting sailors.

Information for visitors includes arrival and departure guidance, harbour charges, moorings, fuel, provisions and local services. The club also shares practical resources such as travel directions, lock information, weather and river levels. Members take an active role in maintaining the grounds and harbour facilities, reflecting the club’s do-it-yourself ethos rather than a commercial marina model.

Alongside sailing, the SJN supports local community initiatives, including environmental clean-ups, and publishes club news, history and member information
