Segovia Educa en Verde is the environmental education programme of the Segovia City Council’s Department of Environmental Sustainability. It helps residents understand and value the city’s natural heritage while encouraging sustainable everyday choices. Its activities serve schools, families, adults, community groups and people with special educational needs, and are delivered at municipal sites including the La Albuera and Las Arenas Environmental Education Centre, the Botanical Garden and Urban Biodiversity Centre, and the Huerta del Baño teaching garden.

The programme offers workshops, guided walks, educational visits and seasonal activities focused on urban nature, wildlife, trees, geology, water, gardening and biodiversity. School activities are linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly sustainable cities and communities and life on land. Segovia Educa en Verde also supports household and community composting through its “Vecinos del montón” project, and promotes greener public spaces through events such as Parking Day. Activities are generally free and require advance booking; some public events are open to everyone.
