Seibi-Mysli is a Basel Carnival clique founded in 1971, dedicated to preserving and celebrating the traditions of Basler Fasnacht. Its piccolo group comprises around 35 women who share a strong enthusiasm for the music and community of the carnival. Members meet every Thursday evening to practise the piccolo and spend time together, combining regular musical rehearsal with a welcoming social atmosphere.
The clique takes part in Basel’s Fasnacht and also maintains activities throughout the year. Its website provides an agenda of upcoming events and information about what the group does during carnival and beyond. Seibi-Mysli presents its annual carnival theme, or Sujet, as part of its participation in the festivities; the theme shown for Fasnacht 2026 is “Kai Gipfel z hooch.” Visitors can also explore the subjects the clique has presented since its founding. Through its all-women piccolo group, ongoing rehearsals and long-standing involvement in Basel’s carnival, Seibi-Mysli brings together music, tradition and shared community.
