SELC Soc. Coop. is a Venice-based environmental services cooperative founded in 1998 by professionals with diverse backgrounds. It specialises in applied biology and geology, working across terrestrial, lagoon, river and marine environments in Italy and internationally. The cooperative provides environmental surveys, studies, monitoring and project design, alongside practical services for ecological restoration, morphological recovery and nature-based engineering using low-impact techniques. Its expertise also supports infrastructure, maritime works and coastal projects, including feasibility assessments that identify potential environmental issues before plans or interventions proceed.

SELC’s services span environmental evaluations and monitoring, geology and soil science, underwater activities, GIS and graphic design, and laboratory analysis through its geotechnical, marine biology and soil laboratories. Its work includes research on birds, benthic communities, flora, vegetation, geology and geomorphology. The cooperative collaborates with public and private organisations, engineering firms and universities, and has contributed to European LIFE and Interreg initiatives. Projects include restoring priority wetland, alluvial forest and dune habitats, as well as protecting Adriatic seagrass.
