SELCO India is a rural energy service company headquartered in Bangalore, South India. Established in 1995, SELCO aims to disprove three common myths about energy access for the poor. They have successfully installed over 450,000 solar solutions for the poor, which have been paid for through various financing methods designed by SELCO and its financial partners.

To ensure the sustainability of these solutions, SELCO combines door-to-door service models with local youths hired to maintain the solar systems in rural areas. Despite being a social venture, SELCO has maintained modest profits for the last 8 years, with an annual average growth rate of 20%, reinvesting these profits back into the company for further growth. SELCO operates in Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh, delivering sustainable decentralized energy solutions that meet the needs of the poor while facilitating linkages to local financial institutions for customized credit solutions.
