Nicola Selenu is an Italian stand-up comedian, comedy writer and performer whose work spans live comedy, improvisation, television and digital video. Born in Sardinia, he has lived and worked in several European locations and now divides his time between Dublin and Milan. His multicultural background and academic training, including a master’s degree in neuroscience and experimental psychology, inform his observational approach to humor.
Selenu began writing jokes in 1994 and has also created comic strips and authored comic books. His early screen work included acting, writing and producing Candid Camera-style shows and comedy videos. In 2010, he joined Milan’s Teatribù improv company, developing his performance skills before pursuing stand-up. After winning first place in Toastmasters’ Humorous Speech Contest in 2014, he founded Stand Up Comedy Italia to promote stand-up across the country. He has hosted hundreds of comedy shows and appeared on Comedy Central Italia’s Natural Born Comedians in 2016. His work includes stand-up performances, improv comedy, humorous writing and entertainment for audiences and events.
