Self-défense

Self Defense Center is a Toulouse-based organisation dedicated to self-defence, conflict management and Penchak Silat. Founded and led by Dan Bertrand, an experienced martial arts instructor and conflict-management trainer, it serves both professionals and members of the public through two complementary programmes. Its professional training is tailored for companies and public administrations, including staff in education, healthcare, law enforcement and other public-facing roles.

Courses focus on recognising risks, de-escalating aggression, protecting personal safety and, when necessary, applying practical self-defence techniques. The organisation also offers Kaizen Human Defense, a continuously developing approach that combines martial techniques, stress management and awareness of potential danger. For individuals, the TIGER’S Club in Balma provides Penchak Silat and self-defence classes for all levels, with advanced sessions for students seeking to progress further.

The club is a nonprofit association affiliated with the French Karate Federation. Drawing on martial arts, operational self-defence and a human-centred teaching style, Self Defense Center aims to provide practical skills for safer responses to challenging situations
