About Of Self-Directed Support
The Self-Directed Support (SDS) Network is dedicated to organizing help and assistance to empower individuals to live freely and inclusively within their communities. Established in response to the slow progress and challenges faced by Long-Term Care and Support (LTCS) globally since 1965, the network aims to advance SDS by promoting key principles, sharing knowledge, and supporting advocacy efforts locally and globally. Over the past seven years, the network has grown from the Claiming Full Citizenship Conference, evolving into a global movement led by individuals and organizations committed to human rights and inclusion.
The governance structure, represented by regions such as Asia-Pacific, Europe-Africa, and the Americas, reflects a balanced and diverse approach to addressing the evolving needs of the network. By collaborating with various experts and stakeholders, the SDS Network strives to create a world where everyone's voice matters, promoting citizenship for all
