About SELO
Suomen Elokuvaohjaajaliitto SELO ry, also known as the Association of Finnish Film Directors SELO, serves as a national connection and community for Finnish film directors. They provide support and guidance to directors throughout the entire film project. SELO offers a range of services and resources for its members, including legal assistance, model contracts, and networking opportunities through director's clubs and events.
The association also publishes columns, opinions, and statements related to the film industry. SELO collaborates with other film director associations both at the European and Nordic levels. As part of their 40th anniversary celebrations, they organize screenings and discussions, showcasing Finnish films selected by a director born in 1983.
SELO's mission is to develop the general conditions and promote the Finnish film industry, while protecting and advancing the interests of its members
