Semi di Senape

Semi di Senape is an Italian social cooperative based in Alessandria, founded in 2013 by five women who brought their professional experience together to support children, families and local communities. Guided by the principles of participatory welfare, the cooperative works to improve childhood wellbeing and respond to educational needs through collaboration with local organisations and educational services.

Its offerings include a socio-educational micronursery for children aged 6 to 36 months, as well as extracurricular services designed as educational environments rather than simply recreational spaces. Semi di Senape also provides summer programmes, workshops, courses and training for schools, parents, organisations and other stakeholders. Its educational approach emphasises respect, individual differences and active participation, while promoting outdoor education and environmental sustainability.

The cooperative also runs Remix, an educational reuse centre that gives discarded materials from industry and crafts new purpose. Through its activities, Semi di Senape creates opportunities for learning, exchange and collaboration, helping children, young people and adults build skills and connections while fostering social wellbeing and care for the environment.
