About Balistreri Sendik's
Balistreri Sendik's is a trusted and esteemed brand that has been serving the community as a local grocer since 1926. Its roots can be traced back to the Balistreri family, who immigrated from Sant’Elia, Sicily, and began selling quality fruits and vegetables from a horse-drawn wagon on the northeast side of Milwaukee. This led to the establishment of produce markets on Oakland and Downer avenues.
In 1949, Mr. B (Grandpa Tom Balistreri) opened the flagship Sendik's store in Whitefish Bay, known for its honesty, integrity, and exceptional customer service. Over the years, the business expanded and added groceries, meat, deli, dairy, bakery, and wine and spirits departments.
Today, the third generation of owners, Ted, Patrick, Nick, and Margaret, continue to uphold the family traditions of offering top-notch products and outstanding customer service. With locations in various neighborhoods, Balistreri Sendik's is committed to providing the best shopping experience for their customers
