SenioriPiste

SenioriPiste is a community program in Tornio, Finland, offering older residents opportunities for social connection, enjoyable activities and support for wellbeing. It has served the Tornio area since 2003 and is run by Kivirannan Senioritalo ry, an association that also provides information about its rental housing. The program is intended for people aged 60 and over who live at home in Tornio.

Activities are free of membership fees, and participants can join whenever it suits them, without a commitment. Offerings include monthly Kylästä Kylään visits at 12 local venues, themed bowling, book, film and lunch meetups, seasonal events, group activities such as games, singing and nature outings, and organized trips. SenioriPiste also provides individual support and outreach senior work in cooperation with the Väärti network.

Activities take place around Tornio and are also available remotely. The organization’s website shares activity schedules, news, contact details and information about SenioriPiste’s senior housing, including Senioritalo Jokipiha, with an application form for prospective residents
