SEND Parent Mentor

SEN Parent Mentor is a parent-support service led by Anna, who draws on personal experience and training to help families navigate the challenges of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). After supporting her autistic son through the education and benefits systems, Anna developed practical knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), appeals, and securing appropriate provision. Her training includes courses with the National Autistic Society and Level 3 IPSEA education law.

The service supports parents, carers, and guardians with EHCP assessment applications, appeals, form filling, and gathering evidence. It also offers guidance on Disability Living Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, Blue Badge applications, school transport, and mainstream school admissions appeals, with particular experience of semi-selective schools. For adults, support includes applications relating to Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance, and Pension Credit.

SEN Parent Mentor aims to help families feel informed, supported, and less alone. Fees are provided upon application. Anna’s guidance is based on personal experience and independent research, not professional legal, medical, or therapeutic advice.
