SENSECO is a brand that focuses on the Optical synergies for spatiotemporal SENsing of Scalable ECOphysiological traits (SENSECO) COST Action. This action is a collaborative effort involving more than 30 partners from Europe, neighboring countries, and international partner countries. Led by Dr Martin Schlerf and Dr Jochem Verrelst, SENSECO aims to gather information about vegetation status, health, and photosynthetic functioning to assess the dynamic response of vegetation to changing environmental conditions.

By utilizing Earth Observation (EO) instruments such as Copernicus Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3 satellites, as well as FLuorescence EXplorer (FLEX), SENSECO collects spatially continuous data on vegetation at ecologically relevant scales. Additionally, low-altitude and proximal sensing from drones and Eddy Covariance (EC) flux towers contribute to the data collection process. The main objectives of SENSECO are to bridge the scaling gap between leaf and satellite measurements, improve time-series processing of satellite sensor data, enhance synergies between passive optical EO domains, and ensure comparability of measurements across different scales, space, and time.
