Sense Neuro Diagnostics

Sense Neuro Diagnostics is developing non-invasive brain-scanning technology to help clinicians rapidly assess stroke and traumatic brain injury and monitor neurological status. The company addresses a critical gap in emergency and field care: identifying stroke subtype or brain hemorrhage and tracking brain injury between conventional imaging scans. Its technology is designed to support faster triage and help direct patients to appropriate care.

Sense’s investigational scanners use nine antennas to transmit and receive safe, low-power radio-frequency signals across the brain. Changes in the signals can indicate differences between healthy tissue, hemorrhage, and ischemic tissue. A scan takes about 2.5 seconds, covers the entire cranial vault, and collects 360 data points. The technology is being developed to distinguish conditions including intracerebral hemorrhage, large-vessel occlusion, other stroke presentations, and traumatic brain injury.

Applications in development include field assessment for military use and triage in ambulances and emergency departments. A hospital monitoring device is undergoing a multi-site FDA pivotal trial after promising early studies.
