About SENS MAGAZINE
Aline Amike, a Rwandan fashion designer, model, and actress, fulfilled every designer's dream when Hollywood star Lupita Nyong'o showcased a handcrafted bag from Amike Studio, Aline's Rwandan brand, at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival. Aline Amike's brand specializes in bead experimentation, crafting unique fashion pieces inspired by Rwandan culture. The handcrafted bag worn by Lupita Nyong'o during the festival was designed based on a childhood game called 'Dame,' played with Fanta bottle caps, resembling checkers.
This collaboration not only highlighted the craftsmanship of Amike Studio but also showcased Nyong'o's continuous support for Rwandan fashion. Alongside Nyong'o, other celebrities like B-Threy, Angell Mutoni, and Kaya Byiinshi have endorsed the brand, solidifying its presence in both Rwanda and Germany. Aline Amike's journey from Berlin to Kigali reflects her dedication to expanding her brand globally while staying true to her Rwandan roots
