Sentinellesullemura

Sentinelle Sulle Mura is a nonprofit organization and Third Sector Entity based in Casalmaggiore, Italy. Founded around an initiative started by Alessandro Maroli in 2016, the association grew from keeping beehives and producing honey into a broader effort to support solidarity and community well-being. It uses proceeds from honey sales to help fund charitable projects, reflecting its belief in cooperation and collective action.

The organization combines environmental education with practical social support. Its activities include introducing schoolchildren to bees and their importance, hosting beekeeping courses and workshops, and collaborating on initiatives that connect honey with local food and community life. Sentinelle Sulle Mura also promotes free health-prevention services, including screening programs for aortic and bladder conditions and heart-health events for people over 65. Its humanitarian work includes collecting hiking boots for migrants travelling through the Balkans and supporting a project in Guinea-Bissau. The association also organizes local environmental efforts, such as cleaning the river floodplain.
