Sepak Takraw

The Sepak Takraw Association of Canada (STAC) is a national organization dedicated to promoting and developing sepak takraw across Canada. Also known as kick volleyball, the sport combines elements of soccer, volleyball, footbag, badminton, gymnastics and other disciplines. STAC helps people discover and participate in the game, connecting individuals and clubs across the country and supporting programs in schools, recreation facilities and camps.

The association offers membership options, information about local clubs and school programs, and guidance for starting new activities. Its development services include participant resources, skills clinics, certified coaching clinics, and training and certification opportunities for officials. STAC also provides rules, players’ guides, historical information, instructional materials, videos and other educational resources.

For athletes and organizers, the association supports sanctioned events and the annual Canadian Open Sepak Takraw Championships, which have been held since 1999. STAC shares tournament updates, news and media coverage, and offers information about approved equipment, instructional books and DVDs, and promotional products.
