Sergej Selbstverteidigung und Kampfkunst is a martial arts and self-defense school based at Dojo TORANAGA in Berlin-Zehlendorf. Founded in 1986, the dojo offers instruction led by Sergej Gaber, who has developed an approach to practical self-defense drawing on his experience across multiple martial arts. Classes can be taught in German or Russian, and newcomers can request a free trial lesson.

Training options include traditional Shōtōkan Karate for children and adults, youth self-defense, personal and group training, and specialized courses for people in higher-risk professions, including bus and taxi drivers. The program also features ATK-SV, described as anti-terror combat training, and combines physical control with practical techniques. Children’s classes use playful exercises to build body awareness and help participants recognize potential dangers.

The dojo also hosts seminars and training events for members of the Shōtōkan Karate International Federation. Sergej emphasizes accessible training without long-term contracts, with a monthly fee for group karate and self-defense courses. Sessions are arranged by appointment at the Zehlendorf dojo
