PUBLIC CENTRAL LIBRARY OF SERRES

The Public Central Library of Serres is a cultural and educational hub serving the city and wider region. Bringing books and technology together, it aims to help people of all ages engage with knowledge, information and culture. Visitors can borrow materials, join the library, use the reading room and information centre with Wi-Fi, access scientific articles through HEAL-Link, and explore the central catalogue and new-book listings. The library also offers a children’s department, support for people with disabilities, and rooms for events and exhibitions.

Its mobile library takes books to schools and communities across the prefecture, including locations with limited access to library services. Digital resources include a local newspaper archive, a digital repository and library, audiobooks, a collection of stories, and the G. Aggieoplastis Music Archive. The library organizes activities for adults and children, educational programmes, talks and book presentations, while also publishing its own materials. Resources on local history, Serres writers and regional guides further connect the library’s collections with the heritage of the area.
