SERVE | Moratuwa is a non-profit organization based in Sri Lanka that has been working tirelessly since 1999 to advocate for the rights of children and families. Their mission is to empower individuals, especially children and women, through a participatory, sustainable, and scientific process. In collaboration with their esteemed partners, SERVE implements various projects to facilitate empowerment.

These projects aim to develop the analytical capacity of children, families, and communities to assess the status of child rights. Furthermore, SERVE's dedicated social workers initiate and support the empowerment of women and children, providing them with the necessary tools and resources to achieve their own socio-economic goals. One of the core approaches employed by SERVE is the Self-Help Group (SHG) approach.

This rights-based strategy recognizes poverty as the denial of rights and views poverty alleviation as a process of reclaiming one's rights. The SHG Approach brings together individuals who are often voiceless, powerless, and vulnerable, to collectively assert their rights and lift themselves out of poverty. SERVE | Moratuwa envisions a society that upholds equality, dignity, and humanity, particularly for children and women, allowing them to realize their rights and reach their full potential.
