About 世田谷パブリックシアター
世田谷パブリックシアター is a specialized theater that focuses on contemporary theater and dance, exploring new possibilities in stage art through professional creative and performance activities. Since April 2022, it has been led by director and actor Akira Shirai as the artistic director. Located in the iconic Carrot Tower in front of Sangenjaya Station, the theater consists of two venues: the main theater, Setagaya Public Theater, and the small theater, Theater Tram.
It also provides various spaces such as rehearsal rooms, workshops, and sound studios for the creation of stage productions. Since its opening in 1997, the theater has been dedicated to bridging the gap between citizens' lives and culture and art, offering a wide range of programs in production and performance, as well as outreach, education, and talent development. The theater's innovative management style, which includes specialized staff in artistic direction, production, education, and technology, has garnered national attention
