Grace and Harold Sewell Memorial Fund

The Grace and Harold Sewell Memorial Fund supports medical, pharmaceutical, and health sciences librarians in building stronger connections with the professionals and organizations they serve. Its mission is to encourage librarians to become active participants in healthcare and research environments, where their expertise in managing knowledge and teaching informatics can contribute to the quality of health information and care.

The fund focuses on two programs. Its Learning Partnership program provides funding for a librarian or information specialist to spend up to a year immersed in a healthcare or research organization, working alongside a host professional. The fund supports one partnership annually and invites organizations to apply as hosts. Its Stipend Program helps librarians and information specialists attend national meetings of their professional clients. Past stipend recipients have attended conferences of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and the American Public Health Association.

The fund has supported these initiatives since 2001.
