About DORA
DORA, the Declaration on Research Assessment, is a renowned global initiative dedicated to enhancing the evaluation of scholarly research outputs. With a vision to promote practical and robust approaches to research assessment on a global scale, DORA has gained support from 23,721 individuals and institutions to date. DORA recognizes the necessity for improving the evaluation methods used to assess researchers and their scholarly work.
It was conceived during the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology in San Francisco back in 2012 and has since expanded its reach to encompass all scholarly disciplines and stakeholders, such as funders, publishers, professional societies, institutions, and researchers. By signing DORA, individuals and organizations can actively contribute to the development and promotion of best practices in research assessment. DORA offers an extensive blog and resource library, providing valuable insights and updates on responsible research assessment.
