About SFF
Sydney Film Festival is a renowned event that brings the world's best new films to Sydney for 12 days and nights of inspiring and entertaining premieres, talks, and parties. With over 200 movies screening, the festival offers a diverse range of emotional and thought-provoking cinematic experiences. At its flagship venue, the State Theatre, as well as various other cinemas across the city, you can immerse yourself in extraordinary cinema that you won't find in typical multiplexes.
The festival also features the Official Competition, which highlights courageous and cutting-edge films with a chance to win a cash prize of $60,000. Additionally, Sydney Film Festival presents various other cash awards throughout the event. Supported by the NSW Government, Screen NSW, Screen Australia, and the City of Sydney, the festival also runs the Travelling Film Festival, taking the best of international and Australian cinema to regional centers around the country all year round.
