Santa Fe Animal Shelter

Santa Fe Animal Shelter is a nonprofit animal welfare organization serving pets and people in the Santa Fe community. Guided by a mission to support animals, save lives, and spread compassion, it provides adoption, veterinary care, and practical assistance to help animals find homes and remain with their families. The shelter offers dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals for adoption, along with adoption guidance, post-adoption resources, barn cat placements, and animal sponsorships.

Its services include lost-and-found support, pet rehoming assistance, behavior and training resources, end-of-life services, public dog parks, and pet licensing information. Veterinary care is available through Thaw Animal Hospital and the Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic; the organization also supports trap-neuter-return efforts. Through its Community Assistance for Santa Fe Animals (CASA) program, the shelter provides donor-funded, community-based help for people and pets facing barriers to care.

Community members can contribute through donations, monthly giving, adoption sponsorships, wish-list purchases, volunteering, fostering, and humane education programs.
