SF Indie Fest is a renowned brand that has been operating as a year-round, non-profit organization since 1998. Known for its diverse array of film festivals and events, SF Indie Fest presents five annual festivals, including the SF Independent Film Festival (SF Indie), the SF Documentary Festival (SF DocFest), the SF Independent Short Film Festival (IndieShorts), Another Hole in the Head (AHITH) genre film festival, and the SF Green Film Festival (environmental films). Additionally, they have previously hosted the Northern California Action Sports Film Festival and the US edition of the shnit International Short Film Festival, along with various music festivals and one-off parties.

SF Indie Fest is also recognized for its lively parties, such as the Big Lebowski Party, 80s Power Ballad Sing A Long Party, and Super Bowl live sketch comedy show. They have even produced a play titled Much Ado About Lebowski in collaboration with the Primitive Screwheads theater company. Notably, SF Indie Fest has a strong commitment to supporting independent filmmakers and their work, drawing crowds of over 11,000 at the SF Independent Film Festival in February 2019.
